Tips On Being an Online Backgammon Winner

People know backgammon from the way it was passed on from generation to generation. Being a backgammon player means that one has the necessary strategic skills and the tenacity to carry out those plans. Similar to poker, being a backgammon player is very advantageous because the cirlce of people that play backgammon arent usually doing it for money but mostly for fun. Of course there are the players that desire to win, but its the thrill of moving the white or black markers that make it worthwhile.

Backgammon is a game that is near to impossible to predict a win or loss. Ones performance in a game can upset or advance ones skills to the next level or not. The best advice is to keep ones moves one step ahead so that if one does have a move blocked, it can be retaken and calculated in the future.

One tip is to use the opening rolls to ones advantage. Using an opening roll that is good helps make or set up the game so that it turns out good. Getting a good lead is vital for the player. Sometimes player put a lot of effort int he first part of the game because many know that it sets the pace and if one cant set the pace correctly then the game is otherwise ruined.

If, for example, the opponent is moving the board againt another, the opposing player can opt to use a "backgame" strategy. This type of play means that one tries to build a minimum of three anchors in their home board. This is often used with other strategies so one can see how one carefull planned move can spell defeat or victory.

Another play called "Hold Them" employs slowing down the opponent by placing a set of obstacles in their path.

Others favor another technique called the "Priming" move which lets the player create a "wall" in which there are six points that are covered in the board.

"Blitz" is another move that makes the player close their homeboard so that the opponent cannot enter it right away and leaves them vulnerable to counterattack.

"Running" involves the player moving the markes across the board quickly while avoiding hits. Its sometimes called the "Suicide Run" when one feels desperate. This is used sparingly of course.

One should always remember that moving the markers across the board takes priority and that its not as easy as it seems.
